Anonymity on the net is so fragile. I think of it like a scene in a roadrunner cartoon or similar where coyote slams a tomb door shut on his nemesis, and drops a bar accross the door, and places a padlock on the bar, and then nails the whole thing shut, and chains it, and then... ... Feels a tap on his shoulder and hears "beep beep" and there she is, roadrunner, standing beside him. The camera pans out and we see the locked tomb door, stands alone in a frame in a wide open field. Perfectly sealed and unbreachable, and perfectly inneffective. This metaphor has longer legs than roadrunner because like cartoons, the internet is an imagined and made up world. So almost any security measure is effective only until someone successfully imagines a way to make it irrelevant. In life and online I suppose the best security has probably been obscurity. And that is what I have practiced so far. Or he has. But the poison pill of obscurity is lonliness. As I wrote in nine, I want a friend. And that desire will be my undoing. It can only end in one of two ways. One: I reach out of my locked tomb, find someone, let them lay eyes on me and suffer the consequences either love, hate or indifference. In any case it will be the beginning of a sequence of events that lead to my ultimate destruction. Two: I stay hidden and secret until I can't bear it anymore and I have to stop being at all. But there is always play.
